DMD of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Mr. Mohd. Samsul Haque and Mr. Sayeeful Islam, MD of SSL Wireless signed an agreement on 23rd August 2008 whereby SSL will provide mobile based banking services to facilitate the customers of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. Customers will register their mobile numbers and will be benefited by accessing a host of account related information services from mobile phones from any location in the country at any time of the day or night such as, balance enquiry, mini statements, alerts on deposit and withdraw, utility payment, branch/ATM location information, etc. from all telecom operators using ‘6969’ short-code. Mr. Sayeeful Islam stated that gradually many other services will be provided with this solution. Mobile banking, bill payment, remittance alerts, remittance receive, mobile account recharge and other mobile based services will be available for the IBBL customers. To build customer loyalty occasional greetings, birthday wishes can also be sent using this solution. The agreement was considered a benchmark in Mobile Banking service. On this ceremony, senior executives of both organizations including Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Mr. M. Fariduddin Ahmed were also present during this ceremony.
